BELLMORE, NY — As the pandemic moves into Long Island's rearview mirror, two restauranteurs want to embrace the "roaring '20s" vibe of enjoyment and dining out again. The owners of Meritage Wine Bar in Glen Cove, Alex Fiorentino and Julius Miranda, have teamed up again to open Casarecce Italian in Bellmore.

Casarecce opened last month in the former Epicure Bistro space at 2620 Merrick Rd.

Fiorentino told Patch that the partners saw an opportunity when the longtime restaurant closed, citing the successful location. The two have been working together since open the kitchen at Revel Casino in Atlantic City.

Miranda created the menu at Casarecce with authenticity in mind, Fiorentino explains.

"It's all made from scratch, we buy bones and make stock, we have multiple pastas made from scratch."

The drinks menu leans toward classic Italian cocktails with Aperol, Negronis and more.

"We are all coming out of a rough time, and now is a reawakening and fun again, like the 1920s. Let's get out and have fun again," Fiorentino said.
