Civic President Announces Possible Organic Supermarket in Former Rite Aid
Reinaldo Nunez said that the supermarket, North Shore Farms, is in negotiations to move into the property.

Reinaldo Nunez, president of the , announced that North Shore Farms, an organic "Trader Joe's like" supermarket may fill the vacant at the southwest corner of Jerusalem Avenue and Pea Pond Road.
"They are in heavy negotiations and right now it looks very promising," he said at a civic meeting Monday.
The Rite Aid property has been vacant for more than five years. According to the Town of Hempstead Office of Communications and Public Affairs, a permit was issued for interior alterations of the property in 2011.
North Shore Farms has locations in Glen Cove, Mineola, Port Washington and Great Neck.
"I think it will be a good thing for the community," Nunez said. "It's an upscale operation and I think residents will be pleased with it."
