Crimes Nearby Part I: Man Arrested In Connection to LIRR Death, Items Stolen
The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department; it does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore
- A bike was removed from a front lawn on Natta Boulevard on Aug. 12.
- A bike was removed from a Airway Drive lawn on Aug. 12.
- On Aug. 12, glue was found inside the business door look or Laurvan Drugs on Bellmore Avenue.
- On Aug. 13, a bike at the Long Island Rail Road was removed from a bike rack.
- A complainant left his cell phone in the restroom at Dunkin Donuts on Merrick Road on Aug. 13. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect took it.
- An unknown suspect(s) stole aluminum scrap metal from a complainant’s front and rear yards on Soma Avenue on Aug. 18.
- On Aug. 24, Niheim Levy, 34, of Roosevelt was arrested for his role in an assault at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road Station that led to the death of a 49-year-old Freeport man.
- On Aug. 14, items were removed from an unlocked vehicle parked on Gildersleeve Street.
- Zaheer Ahmad, 21, of Brooklyn was arrested on Aug. 15 after he allegedly stole jewelry from a Charlotte Drive residence while he was on site doing exterior work on the home.
- Megan Griffo, 42, of Massapequa Park was arrested at Merrick Road and Babylon Tunrpike and charged with driving while intoxicated and five violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
- On Aug. 18, a complainant discovered scratch marks down the driver side of their vehicle parked on Robbin Lane.
- Kayla Gorman, age 22 of East Islip was arrested at Frankel Boulevard and Merrick Road and charged with driving while intoxicated and two violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
- At 1:26 a.m. Aug. 10, a vehicle parked on Wilson Road had its windows broken and a GPS was removed.
- Sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7 a.m. Aug. 10, change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on School Street.
- On Aug. 7, at 6:38 p.m., a bike was stolen from Jake’s Steakhouse on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.
- Sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 5 and 10 a.m. Aug. 6, an egg was thrown at a vehicle that was parked on Argyle Road, which caused damage.
- Sometime between 8 a.m. and noon Aug. 9, a vehicle’s window was broken while it was parked at East Meadow Bowl.
