Drunken Driver Caused Multi-Car Crash In Nassau: Police

Police say he and one other person had minor injuries from the crash, which involved five cars.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A Nassau County man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he crashed into multiple parked cars while driving drunk.

According to police, Dyllin Oritz, 20, of Levittown, was driving a 2022 Subaru sedan east on North Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore at 1:09 a.m. when he struck a parked car. The parked car then struck another parked car, and then an occupied car. One of those cars then struck a fifth car, which was also parked.

Police say Ortiz was driving drunk. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Another man was also taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Ortiz is charged with driving while intoxicated. He was arraigned on Dec. 17 in First District Court in Hempstead and released on his own recognizance.
