Whether you think you can or you can't--you're right- Henry Ford
Hello all! I am still going strong on my weight loss and fitness goals, I am down close to 20 pounds now!
I learned a valuable lesson while training with Sam of the Bellmore Personal Training Institute last week. The lesson was that my mind is the strongest organ in my body.
During one of my training sessions, Sam told me to jump over a board that he held. My first thought was that it was too high and I could never jump over it. My first few attempts were a failure because my feet kept hitting the top of the board and I was not going over.
So then Sam put a stepper on the floor and told me to jump over it and I did it. Then he put a hurdle on the stepper and I jumped over that. He then continued to stack the stepper and I kept jumping over it with no problem. After a few minutes, he brought it to my attention that the stepper was the same height as the board I KNEW that I could not jump over. He then put it in front of me again and I jumped over it with no problem.
When we automatically think we can't do something, we will fail. But the reality is, is that we can do anything we put our minds to.
If you want to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle, you have to know that you can do it in order to succeed. But if you keep telling yourself it can't be done or you keep making excuses, you will not accomplish anything.
So believe believe believe! You can jump over the hurdles and you can take control of your health.
