March 28: Students Host Senior Citizen Prom, Local Group Sues the County

The Five Things You Should Know Today.

1. Mepham High School's Students Against Destructive Decisions will host the 10th Annual Senior Citizen Prom at Mepham High School at 5:30 p.m. Students will chose a Senior Citizen Prom King and Queen!

2. The New York Civil Liberties Union (NCLU) announced that it filed a suit against Nassau County due to conditions they said led to the death of five inmates in the last two years at Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow. Read more here.

3. Calling all book lovers! The Friends of the Merrick Library will host its ongoing book fair at the library from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Books of all kinds will cost $1.00!

5. Take your little one down to the East Meadow Public Library to enjoy some Pre-School Storytime! Children should be under the age of four and not yet in Kindergarten. The free event will start at 2 p.m.
