Mepham Kickline Hosts Dance Clinic
High school dance team works with girls who could be program's future.
The Mepham High School varsity kickline gave back to the community by hosting its second dance clinic for children from 5 to 13 on Nov. 21 at Brookside.
More than 80 girls from the Bellmore-Merrick area participated in the clinic. The girls were divided into groups, each instructed by members of the high school kickline team. While working with their groups, the children were taught dance techniques as well as choreography that included jazz, hip-hop, kick and pom.
Bellmore Bagel Cafe donated a bagel breakfast for all of the participants.

“The clinic is a way for the high school girls to form a relationship with the younger dancers in the community and teach them a little bit of what it is like to be on a high school competitive dance team,” said Kerry Dennis, the kickline coach and social studies teacher.
