Month Long Overnight Shutdown For Part Of Southern State Parkway
The highway closure is scheduled to start on Monday night.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — Drivers should be prepared for nightly road closures on the Southern State Parkway.
Beginning on Monday, Sept. 26, all westbound lanes will be closed from Exit 27 (Wantagh State Parkway) to Exit 22 (Meadowbrook State Parkway). That shutdown is expected weeknights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Road crews may also block off one westbound lane starting at 9 p.m.

The work, part of a pavement resurfacing project, is expected to last one month, weather permitting, the DOT said.
Detours will be posted alerting motorists to use the southbound Wantagh Parkway to westbound Sunrise Highway to northbound Meadowbrook Parkway. That will give drivers access to the westbound Southern State past the closure point.
