"No Donation Is Too Small:" GoFundMe Set For Family Of North Bellmore House Fire

The family lost their home and their beloved dogs, Peaches and Bruiser.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family of the North Bellmore fire that occurred on Monday night.

Two dogs died in the fire, and three firefighters were injured while responding to the fire, FD said.

The Matland family lost their home and their beloved dogs, Peaches and Bruiser, according to Suzanne Aruti, a friend who set up the GoFundMe.

"Jeanne Marie and Ryan and their five children— Ava Marie, Emma, Lyla, Victoria, and Ryan— are safe," Aruti wrote. "However, the effects of this loss will be felt for a long time."

She added that the Matland family is in need of assistance from their community.

"No donation is too small," she said. "Let’s come together to help this wonderful family, who always does so much to help others."

Aruti wrote that the money will be transferred to the family for essentials like clothing, food, household items, items for the children, "and whatever other expenses that will help them rebuild what they have lost."
