North Bellmore National Guard Airman Receives New Rank

Air Force Major General shares recent promotion of members of the New York Air National Guard.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A National Guard Airman received a new rank, as recently shared by Air Force Major General Michael Bank, commander of the New York Air National Guard.

Bank announced the recent promotion of members of the New York Air National Guard, including North Bellmore's Kostantinos Sovaras.

Sovaras is assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing and received his promotion to the rank of master sergeant in September.

The New York Air National Guard said that Airmen receive promotions based on overall performance, leadership skills, professionalism, and future development potential. They also said Air National Guard Citizen Airmen are eligible for monthly pay, educational benefits, training, and health and dental benefits.

"The New York Air National Guard is built on a foundation of talented and motivated Airmen, and this month's promotions are a shining example of that excellence," Bank said. "I am honored to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our Airmen, and I look forward to seeing their continued growth and contributions to our organization."
