North Bellmore Resident Takes Second Place in Essay Contest

Claudia Lent, a North Bellmore resident and a senior at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville, came in second place in the Hicksville Veteran of Foreign War's  "Voice of Democracy" essay contest.

At a recent awards ceremony, Lent was presented her award by Joe Ingino, president of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Nassau County.

The theme of the contest was “Is There Pride in Serving in Our Military?” The  essays were read and judged by members of the William Gouse Post 3211 in Hicksville.
