I learned a valuable lesson this week. When you don't consume enough calories, you can actually gain weight. Unfortunately my weight went up this week for that exact reason: I did not eat enough.
Last week I worked out as much as I was supposed to and more, but I ate once a day most days last week due to a very busy schedule. I also found that I am not getting hungry and I have to schedule my meals in.
I spoke to Sam Thomas, one of my trainers at the Bellmore Personal Training Institute and he said that when the stomach shrinks, the body craves food less. He also said that once I start eating properly again, the weight I gained will come right off.
If you don't eat enough, you will not lose weight, no matter how much you exercise. The body needs fuel in order to burn fat.
So if you are on a weight loss journey, remember to exercise and eat nutritious foods every two hours. Starving the body will only halt your weight loss goals.
Come back next Friday and see if I got those pounds off!
