Officer Hurt Subduing Combative Man After Nassau Accident: Police
Charles Klimovich faces charges that include second-degree assault, police said.

BELLMORE, NY — A Bellmore man has been arrested for assaulting officers following a car accident, police said.
Charles Klimovich, 63, was involved in an accident on Monday afternoon in the vicinity of Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Road, police said.
When officers attempted to get his information, he refused, became combative and attempted to flee, authorities said.

As officers were trying to place Klimovich under arrest, he continued to resist and failed to comply with their commands, police said. Officers used their taser to subdue Klimovich and put him under arrest, police said.
One officer sustained injuries to his elbow and both knees. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.

Kilmovich is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, police said. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
