Pinelawn Memorial Helps Families Honor Loved Ones
Over 630 People Attend Annual Fall Candlelight Remembrance Vigil
Farmingdale, NY – October 5, 2021 – Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, known for its exceptionally beautiful grounds and world-class arboreta, hosted its 3rd Candlelight Remembrance Vigil, where over 630 guests reflected on lost loved ones in a beautiful, peaceful setting.
The first evening vigil took place on Sunday, October 3 where Star Larreynaga, a resident of North Bellmore, spoke about the loss of her mother to COVID and how she continues to walk the path of grief. Wendy Spanton, who resides in Smithtown, will be speaking during the Wednesday, October 6 vigil regarding the loss of both of her parents.
“It’s very important to us that we offer opportunities for families to honor the memories of their loved ones, which is a very important part of the grieving process,” said Kristyn Hovanec, Marketing Manager, Pinelawn. “Our vigils are set in a tranquil environment and serve as a source of unity for the attendees to share together.”

The vigils, which included the reading aloud of names of loved ones, also featured a non-denominational sermon. They were set in a beautiful outdoor setting amongst of Pinelawn’s Louis Natalie Mall, surrounded by the gentle sounds of live string music and live vocals, and the soft glow of string lights.
