Queens Man Arrested in Year-Old North Bellmore Counterfeit Cash Case: Police

NCPD says the man was arraigned on Monday.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A Queens man was placed under arrest after using counterfeit money a year ago, police said.

Nassau County police said Andrew Cambero, 25, was arrested after criminal possession of a forged instrument for incidents that occurred on Sep. 15, 2024, in North Bellmore.

According to police, Cambero entered a 7-Eleven on Jerusalem Avenue at 2:44 p.m. and 3:24 p.m., and used counterfeit money to make multiple purchases within the store before fleeing the scene.

After an extensive investigation, officers located and placed him under arrest on Sunday, police said.

Cambero is charged with five counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and two counts of petit larceny.
