Star Student Athlete: Eli Koukoulis Shines Off The Field Too

BELLMORE, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard. This submission comes from Ronni Koukoulis who nominated his son Eli, a college senior from Bellmore.

What sport does the star student-athlete play? Football

Why do you believe the star student-athlete should be recognized? Eli is a member of the Western Connecticut football team. He is a slot receiver and played a large part of the offense this year. He is a leader on the field as well as in his community and an has overall GPA of 3.98. This earned him the WestConn 2022 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award. He is the president of the Kathwari Honors Program and the president of the Honors student Organization of Compassion. He is a member of the peer tutor resources program and a peer mentor. He also takes part during Campus clean up and Field day. Eli will be graduating with a psychology major/biology minor.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete? Eli is dedicated. Keep up the great work, Eli, college senior!
