Woman Detained By ICE After Arrest At North Bellmore Spa: PD

An investigation revealed she was in the country illegally and was subject to removal; ICE took custody of the woman: police say.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A Queens woman was arrested at a North Bellmore spa and subsequently detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Thursday, Nassau County police said.

According to Nassau County police, Ji Chen, 30, was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession after an investigation of an incident that occurred at a North Bellmore spa at 3:05 p.m., Nassau County police said.

According to police, the investigation was conducted at King Foot Spa located on Jerusalem Avenue, where it was determined that illegal massages were being conducted.

Chen was released on an appearance ticket, but further investigation revealed that she was in the United States illegally and is subject to removal proceedings, police said. ICE took custody of Chen, police said.
