The annual celebration brings Brentwood families and school administration together to ensure a successful start to the new school year.

BRENTWOOD, NY — The Brentwood Union Free School District knows how to celebrate the new school year.

Over two thousand community members and students attended the district's third annual Kick-Off to a New School Year event at East Middle School on August 22.

The event drew several local businesses to the festivities to provide information to community members and offered a variety of giveaways to help students prepare for the first day of school on September 4.

Many students also received free backpacks full of school supplies courtesy of the Promise of Hope Foundation as part of the event. Brentwood teachers and administration mingled with community members to answer any questions regarding technological changes and informational forms to help them ease into the new school year.

Phil Ramos, deputy speaker for the New York State Assembly and Brentwood High School alumnus, was among those in attendance.
