BRENTWOOD, NY — A 62-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday and police say the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot.

According to Suffolk police, 59-year-old Doreen Kucer was driving a 2016 Kia Optima west on the LIE near Exit 53 in the right lane when her car was rear-ended by a 2008 Honda Accord at 2:18 a.m.

The Kia then struck a guardrail and came to rest in the HOV lane. The driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot following the crash, police say.
