'A Great Man': East Brentwood FD Mourns Beloved Firefighter

BRENTWOOD, NY — The Brentwood community is mourning the death of a dedicated fireman, community member, and former East Brentwood Fire Department chief.

In a social media post announcing his passing on Wednesday, the fire department wrote:

"It is with deep sadness and regret that the Chief’s office announces the passing of Ex-Chief and Ex-Commissioner Paul Larsen. Please keep the Larsen family in your thoughts and prayers.

"Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they become available. ~Rest easy our brother we will take it from here!"

On Thursday, the fire department confirmed his passing with Patch.

"Chief Larsen was a great man who will truly be missed by all of us," said fire department secretary Zandy Jumpp-Sabaks.
