Legislator Tom Donnelly Brings Free County Services To Brentwood Library
The "At Your Library" initiative aims to make government more accessible to Suffolk County residents.
BRENTWOOD, NY — Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly spent an afternoon connecting directly with residents at the Brentwood Public Library, bringing county resources and services to the community as part of his “Legislator at Your Library” initiative.
The event, held on October 23, gave attendees the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Donnelly, discuss local and regional concerns, and access several county programs in one place. Residents could apply for senior bus identification cards and have documents notarized for free by members of Donnelly’s staff.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office also participated, providing medical photo IDs, Operation Safe Child ID cards, and a “Shed the Meds” collection site for safe disposal of unused prescription drugs.

Donnelly said the program helps bridge the gap between local government and residents by offering face-to-face interaction and practical services in a familiar setting.
“It’s vitally important for residents to have personal, direct access to their representatives,” Donnelly said. “Events like this make it easier for people to learn about programs that can help them and to share their thoughts about what’s happening in our county.”
