Sober House On L.I. Lead To A Young man’s Death
The second chance sober house located in Mastic Shirley Suffolk County Long Island Responsibly for the death of 28 year old Man.
Andrew T. O’Connell Born March 23,1996 -October 20,2024 his death was a wrongful death accidental overdose which was neglected by the house manager at the second chance sober house.
Located at 428 Revillo Avenue Mastic Shirley N.Y. 11951 on Long Island,Suffolk County .
Andrew was in a different sober house prior to the second chance sober house . This is where it gets interesting because in that house located on 128 Meadowmere Avenue Mastic NY 11950 they have A manager there named Jose who has been extorting the residents.Andrew was one of the victims of being extorted the first time Andrew told Timothy he knew he counted out the rent money in front of his girlfriend and handed the cash to the house manager . Then got a call from the home owner telling Andrew he was $100.00 one hundred dollars short on his rent. So That manager would not give rent receipts to any residents when rent is being paid. So Andrew told me that the next time he will ask for a rent receipt. That next time did come and that manager refused to give Andrew his rent receipt verbally making threats towards Andrew’s from what Andrew told Timothy via phone conversation as well as being told no smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages on the premises. But that manager was in a room by himself being the house manager and was doing everything prohibited in his room because he was a manager from smoking cigarettes and Marijuana that when tried to extort Andrew again Andrew started drinking alcohol went back to the house confronted the manager seeing there was no other alternative as Andrew had the home owners phone number but the manager took it away from Andrew at the time when the rent was paid last after he was extorted for the last time which how Andrew got kicked out after getting into a fight with that manager causing Andrew to jump through a window then had to go to the Stony Brook hospital where he was discharged from Stony Brook hospital to Brunswick psychiatric hospital in Amityville where he stayed for (3) three weeks being discharged on October 18,2024 to second chance sober house .That day he got in that second chance sober house Andrew went there with a brand new Smart TV (Roku) along with his Xbox game system which after his death his mediate family that is next of kin is entitled for his belongings that when Timothy called the manager asking about his belongings he was told he didn’t know what was Andrew’s nothing is labeled so when Andrew’s Mother called the manager and the manager lied saying to his mother that Andrew never went there with a Tv or Xbox game system when his girlfriend told Timothy she drove Andrew to get his belongings from the other house and a house mate from that house walked out and gave Andrew his tv and Xbox. There’s more to this story than meets the eye as Andrew has history’s of suicidal ideation and attempts of suicide was diagnosed with mental health illness’s growing up such as schizophrenia ADHD depression, bipolar and PTSD the last time before this happened was in year 2022 when Andrew lived with his active guardian he was never a legal guardian over Andrew for (12) twelve years of his life. Timothy (his active guardian) knew everything about Andrew from his thinking and attitude knowing if he was troubled by anything thats the type of relationship bonded between them both Father/son. Andrew called him Uncle throughout the years and always referred to Timothy as his father as Andrew’s mediate family chose not be there for him or involved in his life. Andrew knew this and continued to try and reach out to his family but was always ignored. Andrew did have some kind of communication with two of his siblings out of state his biological father also who remarried with a new family life out of New York State Andrew also reached out to him after he finally found him on Facebook but when Andrew chatted with him his biological father said he didn’t want nothing to do with Andrew at that time Andrew was in his early 20s. That hit him hard as he was looking forward to developing a relationship with his biological father. These things effected Andrew and his mental health. Andrew also had a girlfriend Crystal who became involved in Andrew’s life couple years later after Timothy (his guardian) started taking care of him. After Andrew all the years has a history of mental health over dosing on medication’s that he knew would not cause death but would still hurt him he would let his guardian Know and His guardian Timothy Gallagher would call emergency to get him to the hospital as soon as possible. That last time in 2022 he said to his guardian and his girlfriend he would never try to kill himself again. Andrew also has the intention to overdose if he is in place that he feels uncomfortable that makes his mental state of mind telling him he needs to leave and he would overdose then tell somebody expecting a 911 call to get him to the hospital then he would be placed into different housing arrangements in a different location. This has happened in the past Timothy was always called as Andrew always had Timothy Gallagher listed as an emergency contact as well as his main support.Timothy Gallagher his guardian always looked at Andrew as his son they went through tough times together that caused homelessness until Timothy got a place for them both to stay off the streets. So now back to when Timothy received calls from second chance sober house. When the date of his death on October 20,2024 the house manager at the second chance Sober house contacted Timothy at 11:07 pm at night telling Timothy Andrew had a roommate that discovered him with empty pills next to Andrew’s bed on the floor the roommate brought it to the house managers attention also telling him that Andrew was moving around at the time 3:30am the house manager checked on him Andrew at 4:30 am discovered him not breathing and cold called 911 when he was declared deceased. The house manager also told Timothy he didn’t know who to callas there was no emergency contact in his file. Timothy knew something didn’t seem right about what was said since Andrew always had him on his papers as his emergency contact and main support as everything from Brunswick psychiatric hospital was forwarded electronically to that second chance sober house.

Timothy contacted the detective on the homicide squad on the case to tell him what he was told two different stories that detective was not available but contacted Timothy another day after Timothy explain to him about what that manager said to him. That detective told Timothy he will go visit to talk with that manager and will get back to him but cannot say to much about the case as Timothy is not next of kin. So when detective contacted Timothy he told him that Andrew did not get discovered at 4:30 am in the morning it was 3:30 pm that was the time Andrew’s body was taken.
When they removed the body as far as the two different stories he told Timothy he can not disclose to him what happened or what was said about his death only what was in the report that it was an overdose that report was given by John Cessa the house manager as Andrew was found with empty bottles of pills next to him that is what they’re going by that report. In other words the homicide does not care what the real story is for what the real cause of Andrew’s death if there was foul play or not why the house manager lied about what happened and why he didn’t call 911 when Andrew told him he took to many of the wrong pills as when anyone says that regardless what type of pills it is if someone says to you I took to many of the wrong pills that is a cry for help so why he didn’t call emergency and how he didn’t know all the pills were taken when that house manager is supposed to be monitoring all patients medication sound’s-very strange and why the police will not do nothing about it.
Timothy contacted Brunswick psychiatric hospital they told Timothy the second chance sober house where Andrew was discharged to is affiliated with them and they’re supposed to monitor the patient’s medications so then Timothy has big question why wasn’t the medication s being monitored?? Could there be foul play that is being covered up as Andrew was not even in that house no more than 72 hours and his girlfriend brought to Timothy’s attention that from the previous sober house one house mate was making threatening gestures to Andrew in text messages could it be that these two houses are tied together as Timothy also found out Andrew owed money to that House mate that was making threatening gestures to Andrew saying to him that Andrew owed money to the other house manager from that previous sober house and to that house mate . The detective in the seventh (7) precinct sweeping this case under the carpet as a suicide as nothing has been said to Timothy about the case even though Timothy and Andrews girlfriend were the only ones physically involved in Andrew life as well as Andrews only family that he had for (12) twelve years . Timothy and Andrews girlfriend want answers if anyone else out there had the same issues with these sober houses? Also who to contact because as they believe foul play was involved that caused Andrew T. O'Connell's death.
