Protein Powder is not permitted with SNAP Benefits-why?

SNAP Program; Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program does not permit Recipients the ability to purchase Protein Powder; but does permit recipients permission to purchase Protein Bars. Te NYS Department of Agriculture supports healthy lifestyle and making fresh produce purchases at Farm to Table. Why are we not including Protein Powder purchases as well; when the product is dry food based and sometimes SNAP recipients can not eat Solid Foods. SNAP has been Plagued to believe that only the Low Income Senior or Single Mother's on fixed incomes are the only People to be approved. That's simply incorrect assumption.

Many SNAP recipients are treating chronic medical conditions; including those inflicted with COVID 19 and as breathing is problematic; often those treating may depend on Liquid diet. Most Protein Powders state on the front of the product; how many Meals one can have. It's cost effective and fits well into the NYS Department of Agriculture's commitment of purchasing healthy food choices.

Assemblyman Keith Brown was put on notice about the matter above and as of Today; had not taken the lead to introduce Legislation for Head of Household Mother's which live in the district. This isn't a Pro-Choice Vote-so why hasn't the Assemblyman taken the lead in Legislative Introduction for Female Voters in the 12th Assembly District.

Instead of respecting Maryann Maltese's legislative recommendation as a Voting Member of this Community; Brown instead decided to try and have Maryann Maltese arrested on March 9, 2021 at his Government Office paid for by NYS Tax Payers for Leased property at 75 Woodbine Street, Northport, NY.

The matter of March 9, 2021; was Official State Business request as a Fellow NYS Employee of the NYS Legislature in need of Legislative bill introduction to adjust Maryann Maltese's NYS Legislative Salary for years of service 1994-2013. This process as well-is required Legislative Introduction as Fellows; as Mutuals in Service.

This Labor Day-send the Message to Keith Brown that discrimination is not tolerated in Huntington, West Islip and Babylon Township.
