Touro College Expands With New Central Islip Building
The campus houses Touro's law, education and health graduate schools, and will be the home for a public advocacy center.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY—This week Long Island's Touro College broke ground on a new building on their Central Islip campus. The building will house classrooms, offices and a public advocacy center for student pro bono case work.
The building, where officials held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, is located at 225 Eastview Drive in Central Islip. The William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center is part of Touro's law school, one of three graduate schools that make up the Long Island campus along with the Touro College School of Health Sciences and the Touro College Graduate School of Education.
According to the school's website, the William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center is "the only one of its kind in the nation, the Center was developed to have an impact on social justice, legal training and the lives of countless individuals in and beyond the local community."

"Housed within the law school, the Center provides furnished offices to local non-profit agencies in exchange for one thing: a promise to use Touro Law students for advocacy services, research work and client relations. Students work with these organizations to satisfy their pro bono requirements while developing an understanding of the problems facing the local community."
