Eastchester-Bronxville Road Repair Cash

The money is coming from the State of New York's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program.


Tuckahoe, Eastchester and Bronxville will be getting hundreds-of-thousands of dollars to help fix the roads. The money is coming from the State of New York. Officials say and Eastchester and Tuckahoe will be receiving more money than they got last year.

Eastchester is set to get more than $117,000. That is about 28% more than the town received last year. Tuckahoe is set to get more than $71,000, which is about 26% more cash than they got the previous year. And Bronxville will see an increase of about 25% in funds, with a total amount that tops $110,000.

The money comes from the State of New York's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program, which is called CHIPS for short. The program was set up by the New York State Legislature back in 1981. The money from the funds go straight to municipalities like Tuckahoe and Eastchester. The money is used for road, highway and bridge repairs.
