Eastchester St. Patrick's Day Parade a Huge Success

Participants and those who watched the parade couldn't have asked for a more spectacular time on the event's ninth anniversary.

Sunday's St. Patrick's Day parade in Eastchester gave new meaning to the term "going green." Thousands of people from Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Eastchester and the surrounding area attened the massive event.

Participants in the parade followed the green line in the road down Route 22, with the help of Grand Marshal David Flannery. Nine pipe and drum bands, U.S. Army units, Irish county organizations, police departments, veteran's groups, fire departments, Irish schools and dozens of other groups marched down the parade route, which took an hour and a half to complete.

The event kicked off at Immaculate Conception in Tuckahoe. From there, everyone marched north on Route 22 to the Lake Isle Country Club. The parade was organized by the Eastchester Irish American Social Club and Patch was one of the sponsors this year.
