Police: Eastchester Children Left Home Alone

An Eastchester woman was arrested for leaving her two daughters alone, texting them, "Goodbye and good luck with your sister" after she left them.

An Eastchester woman left her 10 and 4-year-old daughters home alone because she got mad at them, according to an investigator's account to Lohud. Kaori Fukuoka, 43, of Lakeview Avenue, left her house at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fifteen minutes after she left, Police say Fukuoka texted her daughters.

The children were alone in their house until they went to their neighbors home around 5 p.m. That neighbor tried unsuccessfully to call the girls' mother. Their father eventually came home around 6:40 p.m.

Authorities say the 43-year-old had been upset because her two daughters were fighting. Eastchester Police arrested her when she finally got home that night. Fukuoka faces child endangerment charges. She was arraigned in court and released, but a judge has ordered her to have an adult home with her when she is alone with her children.
