Tuckahoe Team Wins Robotics Championship

Because of the Tuckahoe team's performance, they have been invited to Worldfest 2013, which is a global robotics competition that takes place in St. Louis.

Tuckahoe's Rockin' Robots team has won the Hudson Valley Robotic Championship. The team went-head-to-head with competitors at the First Lego League Championship at Dutchess Community College. The Rockin' Robots were one of 12 teams that had to build a robot that was tasked with overcoming obstacles made out of Legos.

The Rockin' Robots is comprised of children ages 11-15 years-old who live in Tuckahoe. Rockin' Robots Coach Afshin Bayrooti says the team had to create a robot that could be guided through the Lego obstacles at the competition.

Back in 2011, the Rockin' Robots won the Hudson Valley Championship. They were also one of 76 teams that qualified for the North American Robotics competition.

Because of the Tuckahoe team's performance, they have been invited to Worldfest 2013, which is a global robotics competition that takes place in St. Louis. At Worldfest, the children will be competing with top teams from more than 40 countries.
