According to the indictment, H-Block/Billy members conspired to murder rival gang members and boasted about it in social media posts, recorded jail conversations and cell phone conversations, prosecutors said.

In August 2021, H-Block/Billy gang members committed three shootings in a two-period, prosecutors said.

The shootings resulted in the death of Jaquan Gause, a 16-year-old Gates Fam member, and injured three other individuals, including an innocent person who was mistaken for a gang rival, prosecutors said.

“This case sends a strong message that shooting guns in our streets cannot and will not be tolerated. It is shocking how young many of the defendants are, and today’s takedown is part of our comprehensive approach to youth violence – holding accountable those who commit shootings and working with other young people to steer them away from street gangs, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement.

“Senseless gun violence ruins lives and causes damage in our communities, and I remain committed to tackling this issue head-on.”

The second murder happened on June 25, 2022, inside the Dr. Green Playground in Brownsville, prosecutors said.

16-year-old Nayshawn Campbell was fatally shot in the torso by a single bullet. H-Block members Nyshaun Perry, Demetri Jean Jacques and Isaiah Charles have been charged in connection to that incident, prosecutors said.

Other H-Block/Billy’s members are accused of committing three other shootings that resulted in a number of people being injured between April 2022 and October 2023, prosecutors said.
