2 Men Committed Gender-Based Hate Crime In Brooklyn: NYPD
The two men picked a metal pipe and struck the 33-year-old victim in the head before fleeing the scene, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — Two men attacked a non-gender conforming individual in Williamsburg last week, the incident is being investigated as a hate crime, police said.
On May 13, at 5 p.m., the 33-year-old victim was sitting on the front steps of their home near Boerum Street and Bushwick Avenue when they were approached by two unidentified men, police said.
The two men apparently asked if the victim was a woman and proceeded to make other remarks, leading to a verbal dispute, police said.

The duo then picked a metal pipe and struck the 33-year-old victim in the head before fleeing the scene, police said.
The victim suffered bruising to the head but refused medical attention at the scene.

One of the suspects is described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The other suspect is described as wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie, police said.
