6 Injured As Fire Rips Through Brooklyn Apartment Building: FDNY
A blaze within the basement of an apartment building in Bay Ridge prompted a massive FDNY response on Sunday night, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NY — Six people were injured Sunday evening when a fire swept through a multi-unit apartment building, authorities said.
The fire began about 8:30 p.m. inside a building in Bay Ridge, FDNY officials said.
Firefighters responded to find a fire within the basement of 555 Ovington Ave., a 4-story building between 5th and 6th Avenues in Bay Ridge, authorities said.

Nearly 110 firefighters helped battle the fire and help the six people who were hurt, authorities said. FDNY officials didn't have any information on the victims' ages or injuries, noting only that two were taken to nearby hospitals and four were treated at the scene.
The fire was listed as under control by 9:40 p.m. and its cause is still under investigation, officials said.
