BROOKLYN, NY — A 66-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in a Brooklyn crosswalk, police said Thursday.

A westbound car slammed into the man on Kings Highway near East 13th Street Wednesday about 9:40 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The man, who had been using a marked crosswalk on Kings Highway, suffered a serious head injury, police said.

The 66-year-old was rushed to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition Thursday, police said.

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old driver stayed at the scene but no arrests had been made Thursday.

It's the second injurious crash this year at the intersection, according to NYC Crash Mapper.

Just a block away, a pedestrian was fatally struck in January while crossing 14th Street.
