7 New Brooklyn Schools Open Ahead Of School Year
These new facilities will open for the first time tomorrow.
BROOKLYN, NY—Tomorrow, 24 new public schools will open for the first time in New York City, creating 11,000 more seats for students in grades K-12.
Seven of the new schools will open in Brooklyn.
“Our administration is committed to giving our children a first-class education, and a crucial part of a great education is having access to great facilities,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Adams said these modern facilities will include state-of-the-art technology, science labs, music rooms, sensory gyms and more.
This expansion is the largest one the School Construction Authority has completed since 2003 and represents the city's mission to help schools comply with the state's class-size laws, the SCA said.

“These new schools are more than just buildings; they are vibrant, dynamic spaces where young minds can explore, create, and grow," Nina Kubota, president and CEO of the SCA, said.
These new schools are also part of the city's plan to accommodate 33,417 more students in NYC.
The new Brooklyn schools are in Bay Ridge, Brighton Beach, Dyker Heights, Park Slope, Bensonhurst, Prospect Heights and Brooklyn Heights.
