Arrest Made In Unprovoked Bay Ridge Attack on Elderly Woman: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — The NYPD has arrested a 29-year-old man who punched an elderly woman in the back of the head in Bay Ridge earlier this month.

Mouhamed Diallo, who was arrested on Thursday, has been charged with second degree assault, according to police.

The incident happened on May 5 in the vicinity of 4 Avenue and 96 Street at about 4:50 p.m., police said.

A 72-year-old woman was walking along the street when Diallo punched her from behind, knocking her to the ground, police said.

Diallo then fled the scene on foot, heading west on 97 Street, police said.

The woman suffered bleeding and swelling to the head and was transported to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
