BK Man Gets Life In Prison For Fatal Robbery That Left 1 Dead: DA
Ramel Chapman, of Boerum Hill, shot and killed a 33-year-old man during a 2021 robbery spree, prosecutors said.
BROOKLYN, NY – A 32-year-old Brooklyn man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting a man during a robbery spree in East Williamsburg three years ago, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney.
Ramel Chapman, of Boerum Hill, was sentenced by Supreme Court Justice Eugene Guarino on Tuesday after he was convicted of first and second-degree murder, among other charges, prosecutors said.
“This was a vicious crime spree that left a trail of terror and trauma to multiple victims, including a father of three who did not survive being shot by the defendant. With today’s sentence, the defendant has been held accountable for his actions,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

Chapman pointed a gun and yelled “This ain’t no joke, give me your sh-t!” He then grabbed Robinson, shot him once in the chest and ripped two gold chains from his neck, prosecutors said.

The defendant then approached the second man, who was standing on the other side of the car, pistol-whipped him in the face, and ripped a gold chain from his neck.
Robinson, a father of three, was pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center, prosecutors said.
Chapman fled the scene but cell site records and video surveillance tracked him traveling back to his home in Boerum Hill later that day from a bar, according to prosecutors.
Chapman was arrested on July 27, 2021.
