BK Penn Track Pimps Killed Rival After Sex Worker Tried Leaving: Feds
Omari Scott, 43, and Michael Simmons, 40, could face the federal death penalty if convicted on murder charges, prosecutors said.
BROOKLYN, NY — Two pimps killed a rival after he tried to take a sex worker away from them and get her to work for him on the “Penn Track” — a stretch of East New York known for open-air prostitution, according to a seven-count indictment unsealed last week.
Omari Scott, 43, of Brooklyn and Michael Simmons, 40, of Pennsylvania, are facing murder, prostitution and sex trafficking charges, prosecutors said. They could face the federal death penalty, if convicted.
Scott learned in late April 2023 that a sex worker planned to leave him and work with Cleveland Clay, another pimp who worked on the Penn Track, prosecutors said.

Scott “violently punished” the woman, and dragged her by her hair into his car in an incident that was caught on camera, according to the indictment.
“I’m bout to violate that b–ch,” Scott said in a recorded call. “I’m about to do her something crazy … I’m not respecting this s–t. I’m about to kill this b–ch.”

The next morning on May 1, 2023, Scott and Simmons were caught on video having a heated argument with Clay, prosecutors said.
Hours later, Simmons shot Clay five times in a parking lot. A nearby laundromat captured surveillance video of Simmons telling Scott, “He’s down. . . he’s down!” according to the indictment.
Clay later died from his injuries, prosecutors said.
Also this month, Joel David Forney, 41, of Kissimmee, Florida, was charged with three counts of sex trafficking, one count of violating the Mann Act and coercion and enticement of a minor, after he forced multiple women to work as prostitutes on the “Penn Track,” Patch previously reported.
If convicted of the sex trafficking charges, Scott and Simmons face between 15 years to life in prison, according to prosecutors.
If they are convicted of the murder charge, the two men could get the death penalty.
