Brooklyn Public Library and Community Offshore Wind plan to give out 3,200 STEM books for children to take home.
BROOKLYN, NY — The Brooklyn Public Library and Community Offshore Wind are hosting a STEM book giveaway this weekend in an effort to get kids excited about science and math, officials said.
On May 4, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., donated books will be given to children from Red Hook and Farragut Houses. The event will be held at the Farragut Community Center parking lot at
228 York Street.
The donated books will broach topics like renewable energy and engineering. They also include biographies of scientists — as a way to encourage a passion for STEM education and careers to the next generation of the clean energy workforce.
