The Brooklyn Academy Of Music's Winter-Spring 2025 Lineup Is Here
An R&B Lady MacBeth, an Oscar nominee in "A Streetcar Named Desire," an Alvin Ailey world premiere, and so much more.
BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklyn Academy of Music has just released its 2025 winter-spring calendar, and, as always, it includes a hefty slate of performances that expand creative boundaries and explore diverse stories.
A revival of "A Streetcar Named Desire" starring Oscar nominee Paul Mescal is coming to the stage, along with the energizing story about anti-hero Mack the Knife, "The Threepenny Opera."
Also on the stage this spring is "Macbeth in Stride," an R&B-soaked re-imagining of Lady Macbeth as a Black woman.

DanceAfrica, the annual African dance celebration, is also back for another year, and this time the festival focuses on Mozambique.

There is also a slate of children's programming, like the crowd-favorite BAMKids Film Festival and a special day of Martin Luther King Jr. Day programming.
“All of these fresh, agile works poignantly reflect our present time. BAM is proud to amplify the voices of artists who navigate risky terrain every day," Amy Cassello, BAM artistic director, said.
"We hope that all who join us this season will experience promise through performance, lifted spirits, challenged perceptions, and art's transformative power through the lens of bold, colorful artistry."
