Rafael Gee—born in Manhattan, raised in Brooklyn—is bringing a huge milestone to Harlem: his first-ever one-man comedy special, Ricanstruction: Not Just a Comeback — It’s Ricanstruction. The show will be taped live for distribution on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Comedy In Harlem.

This special is about laughter, survival, and celebrating where we come from,” Gee says. “Harlem is the perfect place to capture that energy on camera.

A veteran of New York’s comedy rooms, Gee has spent more than 25 years honing a voice that blends sharp joke-writing with heart. He’s performed across the city—including Broadway Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, and Levity Live—and has opened for the NY Kings of Comedy. With Ricanstruction, he’s turning the page to a new chapter: a live-taped, one-night-only event that puts community front and center.

The special draws on Gee’s Puerto Rican roots, New York upbringing, and a hard-won journey of resilience. Expect a fast-paced hour that hits classic NYC beats—family, work, faith, and finding humor in the toughest moments—while spotlighting the joy and grit of Boricua life in the city.
