Free events will take place all over Brooklyn to honor the victims of the attacks.
BROOKLYN, NY — Wednesday marks a solemn anniversary: The 23rd year since the devastating terrorist attack on the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center.
Events and vigils will take place all over Brooklyn today and tomorrow to honor the victims of the attacks and the emergency responders who put their lives on the line.
Brooklyn 9/11 Wall of Remembrance Vigil
Brooklynites who lost loved ones on 9/11 will gather to share stories, light candles and say a prayer.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance in Maimonides Park, 1904 Surf Ave., Brooklyn, NY.
Seth Low Park Memorial
Assemblymember William Colton and Councilmember Susan Zhuang are hosting a memorial at Seth Low Park in Bensonhurst to honor the victims of the attacks and the people who have died from the toxic dust as a result of the tragedy.

"Despite the time that has passed, the pain of that day is still with us, and we believe it is important to remember the victims, those people who went to work that day and never came home, the heroes who perished rushing in to try to save as many people as possible, and those who have died in the ensuing years because of exposure to toxic dust.," Colton said.
The event will take place on Sept. 11. at 11 a.m. at Seth Low Park on Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, NY.
FDNY Battalion 57 Memorial Mass
The Cathedral of St. Joseph will host a service with FDNY Battalion 57, which lost 23 of its members on the day of the attack, to honor the firefighters who died. Before the service, 23 FDNY ceremonial flags will be marched from the site of the World Trade Center to the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
The mass will be on Sept. 11 at 12 p.m. at 856 Pacific St., Brooklyn, NY. For those interested in participating in the march ahead of the mass, arrive at 494 Dean St., Brooklyn, NY, by 9 a.m.
Green-Wood Cemetery Tribute
The historic cemetery in Brooklyn will host an evening vigil to honor the victims of the tragedy, including the more than 100 victims buried at the cemetery. The event will feature a moving musical performance and a clear view of the Manhattan skyline, which will be lit up with two beams of light where the Twin Towers used to stand.
The event will take place on the evening of Sept. 11, from 7-9 p.m. at the Green-Wood Cemetery, which is located at 500 25th St, Brooklyn, NY.
