Driver In Fatal NYC Crash That Killed Mom, 2 Kids Gets Prison Time In Plea Deal
The fatal crash, which killed a 34-year-old mother and her two daughters, ages 5 and 8, happened on Ocean Parkway in Midwood.
BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn crash that left a mother and her two young children dead is finally moving toward closure after a social media influencer struck a plea deal that could put her behind bars for up to nine years.
Miriam Yarimi, 33, who initially faced charges including manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, second-degree assault, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, and speeding, pleaded guilty to manslaughter last month, records show.
She had previously pleaded not guilty to manslaughter back in April and had been held in custody since the crash.

The charges stem from a March 29 crash in which Yarimi slammed her Audi A3 into 35-year-old Natasha Saada and her three young children. Saada and her daughters, Deborah, 5, and Diana, 8, were killed in the collision, and her 4-year-old son was critically injured.
“This horrific fatal crash was one of the worst I’ve seen in over 25 years as a prosecutor. It wasn’t an accident. This defendant’s unconscionably dangerous driving wiped out a family, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez previously said.

Yarimi is accused of rear-ending a Toyota Camry before careening into Saada and her three children as they crossed the street, police said. Prosecutors allege she was traveling at more than twice the speed limit and ran multiple red lights in the moments leading up to the crash.
Although prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence of five to 15 years, Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Danny Chen offered her a plea deal of three to nine years, records show.
“The lives of Natasha Saada and her young daughters were stolen by the callous choices of a chronically reckless driver on Ocean Parkway,” Gonzalez said in a statement. “Though the proposed sentence falls short of the maximum we sought, it will still send a clear message that reckless driving that ends in tragedy will be met serious penalties.”
Yarimi’s sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday.
