BROOKLYN, NY — A new art exhibition featuring four large-scale bronze sculptures will soon be on display along the Pier 3 Greenway Terrace at Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Public Art Fund announced.

On April 30, the Public Art Fund will debut artist Huma Bhabha’s “Before The End.” These eight-foot-tall sculptures, titled Feel the Hammer, Member, Mr. Stone, and Nothing Falls are meant to resemble ancient effigies cut into tombstone, according to the artist.

Bhabha, of Poughkeepsie, made the four bronze sculptures by casting carved cork and skull fragments.

“Huma Bhabha’s eccentric characters captivate through contradiction, seemingly forged in geological time yet animated with a visceral sense of immediacy,” said Public Art Fund Executive & Artistic Director Nicholas Baume. “Before The End is set amidst the expansive landscape of Brooklyn Bridge Park.”

The sculptures will be situated in staggered positions along Pier 3, according to the non-profit arts organization. The exhibition will be on display until March 9, 2025.

The organization will host an opening night celebration on April 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. which is open to the public. Bhabha will also be at the event. In addition to opening remarks, there will be vegan donuts from Cloudy Donut Co. and mocktails by Canard Inc.

“Before The End” is Bhabha’s second time presenting work with Public Art Fund, following her work being featured in the group exhibition “Statuesque” at City Hall Park in 2010.
