BROOKLYN, NY — An man armed with a knife was shot by police inside a Brooklyn hospital Thursday evening.

The incident happened inside New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Park Slope.

Police reportedly fired shots inside the hospital, and the knife-wielding man was struck, according to the NYPD and ABC 7 New York.

The NPYD said on social media told New Yorkers to avoid the area of Sixth Street and Seventh Avenue while officers responded to the scene.
