Knife-Wielding Man Shot In Police-Involved Shooting Inside Brooklyn Hospital

BROOKLYN, NY — An man armed with a knife was shot by police inside a Brooklyn hospital Thursday evening.

The incident happened inside New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Park Slope.

Police reportedly fired shots inside the hospital, and the knife-wielding man was struck, according to the NYPD and ABC 7 New York.

The condition of the man is not known at this time.

The NPYD said on social media told New Yorkers to avoid the area of Sixth Street and Seventh Avenue while officers responded to the scene.

Additional details have not been disclosed. Police are investigating what led up to the incident.

Video footage from the Citizen app showed a large police presence outside the hospital.

The suspect has not been identified yet.
