This Magical Pop-Up Circus Is Coming To A Crown Heights Rooftop

Be prepared to be on the edge of the seat the whole time.

BROOKLYN, NY — The circus is coming to town for a day of captivating performances on the roof of the Brooklyn Children's Museum on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The visiting company, ABCirque, is a contemporary, non-traditional circus troupe that specializes in sweeping its audiences up in the story of each performance and keeping them on their toes.

After each rooftop performance, audience members can participate in circus activity stations on the museum's second floor, museum officials said.

“The goal is to build a performance that was not simply about watching the magic unfold but to be part of the awe and wonder under the big top,” says ABCirque Director Angela Buccinni Butch.

The main performances will take place in intervals on Oct. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. with activities following each performance. Tickets are $15 for most children and adults.

“We have very kinetic experiences watching the circus and it only seems right that the kids get to experience it for themselves after witnessing the magic of it all," Buccinni Butch said.
