Man Killed, 1 Critically Injured After NYC Building Fire: FDNY

BROOKLYN, NY — One man was killed and another critically injured after a fire at a Brooklyn building Tuesday morning.
The fire happened at a three-story building on Vermont Street in East New York around 1:20 a.m., the FDNY said.
Sixty firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. The blaze was put under control within an hour, the FDNY said.

A 50-year-old man was transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Another man in his 40s was also transported to the hospital in critical condition.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries as a result of the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
