Man Shot In Face Inside Car Near Prospect Park: NYPD

A man was shot in the face roughly a block from Prospect Park by an individual sitting in the backseat of his car Thursday night.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot in the face roughly a block from Prospect Park by an individual sitting in the backseat of the car he was driving Thursday night, authorities said.

The victim, a 52-year-old man, was sitting in the front driver seat of a black Mercedes Benz in front of the 300 block of Lincoln Place about 10 p.m. when two men (including one with a gun) threatened him, police said.

The man with the gun then discharged a round, striking the victim in the face, police said. The individuals fled the scene on foot. It wasn’t immediately clear if the victim knew the assailants, or if the assailants were traveling with the victim.

The victim was transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

The first suspect is described as man between 18 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers.

The second individual is described as man between 18 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing blue hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and black sneakers.
