New Yorkers: Make $300 Per Day Working the Polls This Election Season

The Board of Elections is hiring Election Day workers.

BROOKLYN, NY — It's voting season again in America, and the Board of Elections (BOE) is hiring Election Day workers to man the polls on April 19, Nov. 8 and two other dates that have yet to be determined.

You can apply online here, or get more information and print out application forms on the BOE's website. Printed applications can be delivered to the BOE's Brooklyn office, located at 345 Adams Street.

Inspectors and poll clerks who help run voting locations, and information clerks who help voters figure out where to cast their ballots, will be paid $200 for working an Election Day, plus $100 for attending a 6-hour instructional class.

Language interpreters and accessibility clerks, who help make sure the polling site is accessible to all voters, will be paid $200 for their work an Election Day, plus $25 for attending an instructional class.

The BOE is especially interested in interpreters who speak Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Bengali and Hindi.

To work as an inspector, poll clerk or information clerk, you must be a registered New York City voter.

Accessibility clerks and interpreters, on the other hand, only need to have New York City resident or permanent resident status, and must be at least 18 years old.
