From Food Network star Anne Burrell comes a new Mediterranean-Italian-style joint in Cobble Hill. The spiky-haired celebrity chef teams up with Phil Casaceli, who owns Daddy-O in the West Village, to create dishes that “are the size of appetizers,” Burrell recently told The New York Times. The menu is divided between categories of “light,” “medium” and “heavy,” from a kale caesar salad to “big fat” chicken soup to a dry-rubbed ribeye. The drink menu includes custom cocktails, wine and draft beer.

Sal Anthony's
Neighborhood: Gramercy
Address: 226 Third Ave.
A new Italian restaurant emerges in Gramercy. More than 10 years after Sal Anthony’s closed on Irving Place, the restaurant has found new life and a second chance. The new location opened at Easter and its menu boasts hearty, traditionally Italian dishes. Come for the cuppa del giorno, the fettuccine con salmone or the chicken breast all'anice — stay for the sense of community. There’s also a delivery option.
The Green Street
Neighborhood: Long Island City
Address: 10-39 47th Rd.
Described as an organic kitchen with paleo specialities, The Green Street recently turned six months old. The Long Island City-based restaurant features organic, paleo-friendly barbecue, an organic juice press, organic liquors and vegan paleo desserts. The Green Street’s website offers only the basics — location, contact information and a view of the vibrant storefront. It’s through the Green Street Facebook page that potential customers are treated to the colorful array of dishes available on the menu.
Pig Bleecker
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
Address: 62 Spring St.
Try not to drool over the food porn that is Pig Bleecker’s Instagram feed. Pig Bleecker is a meat-focused restaurant that opened in February and is described on Trip Advisor as “not your typical barbecue.” From pecan-candied bacon to chicken wing lollipops, deviled steak and eggs and open-faced pork rolls — the menu is as decadent as it is creative.
Clever Blend
Neighborhood: Park Slope
Address: 97 Fifth Ave.
Clever Blend opened in April, gaining recent attention over the incorporation — and subsequent removal — of a controversial bathroom sign. The new Park Slope coffee spot took over the corner storefront vacated by Gorilla Coffee in January. The cafe merges classic coffee beverages, such as macchiatos and cappuccinos, with newer trends: cold brew, pour over and latte art – decorated patterns made with steam milk and espresso.
Salt & Bone Smokehouse
Neighborhood: Astoria
Address: 72-36 Austin St.
Salt & Bone Steakhouse opened June 1. The new Astoria spot describes itself as a laid-back “counter style of service” with a vintage concept. Salt & Bone was inspired by Texas barbecue traditions, running the gamut of barbecue fare from dry-rubbed brisket to wood-fired rotisserie chickens cooked alongside local vegetables. The restaurant also offers cocktails, colas and ice-cold beers.
Yiwanmen
Neighborhood: Little Italy
Address: 150 Mott St.
Open since February, Yiwanmen describes itself as the best Chinese restaurant in New York City, inviting customers to begin their voyage with Yiwanmen’s diverse food destinations and a wide variety of selections, from meats to seafood to veggies. The Yiwanmen chef will create dishes right before diners’ eyes. Choose between rice noodles, cold dishes, buns, crepes and other eats, with a drink menu that includes herbal tea, meng meng tea and mango basil seed.
Wagamama
Neighborhood: Midtown
Address: 210 Fifth Ave.
Wagamama is a British fast-casual chain with 150 branches, most of which are back home in the United Kingdom. The newest location, right off of Madison Square, touts “fresh, lively food” — with soul. Slurp on Anglo-Japanese ramen, teppanyaki or donburi, or treat yourself to some curry and a salad. Wagamama also offers a brunch menu, gluten-free options and fresh juices.
