Police Identify 71-Year-Old Woman Killed In BK Hit-And-Run
Juanita Vidal was killed in the hit-and-run collision that also left another woman injured, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY —A 71-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run collision in Bushwick Thursday has been identified, police announced.
Juanita Vidal was crossing the street with a 44-year-old woman at the intersection of Eldert Street and Knickerbocker Avenue when they were struck by a 2024 Mazda CX-5 who was evading a traffic stop at about 5:02 p.m., police said.
The driver then struck two parked and unoccupied vehicles before ditching his car and fleeing north on Eldert Street, police said.

Both women were found unresponsive with head and body trauma. EMS transported Vidal to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.
The 44-year-old woman was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical but stable condition., police said.

The driver remains at large as of Friday afternoon, police said.
There have been no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
