Widespread Subway Delays Hit NYC During Rush Hour
L trains were halted in both directions Tuesday morning, officials said. Delays also hit six other lines.

BROOKLYN, NY — A slew of subway lines saw delays during Tuesday morning's rush hour, including a total stoppage for the L train in both directions, officials said.
L trains were completely stopped in both directions about 8:30 a.m. as authorities investigated an incident at Lorimer Street and Metropolitan Avenue station about 8:30 a.m., authorities said on social media.
Meanwhile, the loss of third-rail power at Montrose Avenue halted L train service around the same time, authorities said.

L trains were running with major delays by 9:30 a.m. Photos posted to social media showed large crowds of people waiting at an L train station.
The delays along the L were parts of widespread headaches for morning rush hour commuters.

Trains along the 1 line were delayed headed south because of a signal problem, according to an MTA post.
Likewise, a signal problem near Prospect Park caused delays in both directions for B and Q trains, the MTA posted.
D trains had "severe delays" in both directions because of another signal problem at Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station, according to an MTA post.
A door problem on a train near 36th Street station prompted delays for N trains headed north, a post states.
And, finally, 6 trains headed north had some delays because of a signal problem at Brook Avenue, MTA officials posted.
